Senior editors at pro-Trump website Breitbart News have instructed staff members to stop writing critical stories of Jared Kushner, sources tell Business Insider.
Kushner, son-in-law and adviser to President Trump, has clashed recently with White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, the former CEO of Breitbart News. (RELATED: Jared Kushner Played Key Role In Causing Trump’s Manafort Problem)
The New York Times previously reported that “Kushner allies have also raised the issue with the president of the increasingly unflattering coverage that Mr. Kushner is receiving from Breitbart News.”
Breitbart ran stories critical of Kushner before Trump reportedly ordered the ceasefire.
One Breitbart story suggested Kushner was leaking negative information about Bannon to the press, while another ran down a list of “delicate problems” Trump has trusted Kushner — who, the article accurately noted, “boasts a thin resume in diplomacy.”
Breitbart pushed back against the Business Insider report. “It is an absurd suggestion that Breitbart would muzzle critical coverage of any senior White House official,” a spokesman for the site said.
